Sri:
Ingredients:
1 stick butter
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp fresh ground cinnamon powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla - optional
Chopped Walnuts - optional
Oil or Yoghurt or Milk - as needed, a few tbsp
Mix the whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, baking soda and sieve together. Add rolled oats, powdered cinnamon and chopped walnuts and mix well.
Cream the butter and brown sugar. Add vanilla essence, if desired. To this, add the flours, oat, walnut and cinnamon mixture and bring together to form a dough. Add something to bind, like oil, yoghurt or milk, 1 tbsp at a time to bring the dough together.
Preheat oven to 370F.
Line a oven pan or cookie sheet with parchment paper. Make small balls from the dough, press down to make a disc and arrange on the pan. The dough will expand when baked, so leave space between the dough discs.
Bake until tooth pick inserted in the middle of the cookie coming out dry. In my oven, it took 12 minutes. It may vary a little bit in your oven. For crispy cookies, bake a little longer.
Let it cool down for 4-5 minutes on the cookie sheet and then a few more minutes on the wire rack.
Offer to Krishna and enjoy.
